Scotts Maphuma, an Amapiano performer, was supposed to play over the weekend in Mozambique when he was apparently jailed there.
Maphepha Ndaba, a celebrity blog, posted a video of a man dressed like the artist on Instagram on Monday, June 2, saying that it was Maphuma being arrested.
The site said, "Scott has been (allegedly) arrested here in Mozambique, says a reliable source in Mozambique, this after he was booked to perform there," though specifics are yet unknown. The arrest's specifics are still unclear.
Since then, South Africans have responded to the video in a flurry of ways, with many expressing outrage and others continuing to doubt its veracity.
